Zu den Kriegsereignissen wird berichtet:&#13;
42 Mann wurden zum Volkssturm eingezogen, die in Rechnitz und Eisenberg a.d.P. eingesetzt waren. Am 1. April 1945 wurde der Ort von russ. Truppen besetzt, nachdem die Bevölkerung evakuiert war. Im Orte selbst fanden keine Kampfhandlungen statt, dort dauerte der Kampf zwischen dem Orte und dem Weingebiet bis 5. April 1945. Zivilpersonen wurden während den Kampfhandlungen keine getötet, doch in den darauffolgenden Tagen von russ. Soldaten erschossen: 3 Frauen und 2 Männer, 1 Frau wurde am 13. Juni durch eine Mine getötet. 2 Tage vor der Besetzung wurden die jüdischen Zwangsarbeiter im Walde westl. Deutsch-Schützen erschossen (ca. 76 Mann) und in einem Laufgraben begraben. Die Verluste während der Kampfhandlungen und der Besetzung an Tieren war ungeheuer. Das gesamte Vieh[,] das übrigblieb[,] wurde geplündert: 140 Pferde, 257 Rinder 197 Schweine, Geflügel ca. 1600. 14 Wohnhäuser wurden im Zuge der Kampfhandlungen zerstört, 20 Wirtschaftsgebäude erhielten Granattreffer. Auch die Leiden der Bevölkerung in der Besetzungszeit war grausam: Vergewaltigungen waren an der Tagesordnung. Die ung. Besatzungstruppen plünderten wieder eingestelltes Vieh und Bauernwägen, Fahrräder, Bekleidungsstücke und Kücheneinrichtungen.&#13;
Die Kriegsschäden wurden zum grössten Teil noch vor dem Staatsvertrag beseitigt. Ein zerstörtes Wohnhaus ist jetzt noch im Bau, ein Wohnhaus wird nicht mehr aufgebaut.&#13;
Die Zahl der Gefallenen betrug : 29, die der Vermissten: 6, in Gefangenschaft gerieten: 47. 26 Personen sind bis Ende 1956 nach USA und Candada ausgewandert. 7 Personen befinden sich in der Schweiz.&#13;
Im Jahre 1954 begann der Bau des Güterweges in das Weingebiet Deutsch-Schützen. 18 bewohnte Objekte bekamen durch den Güterweg Anschluss an den Verkehr. Im Jahre 1956 wurde der Bau einer Ortswasserleitung beschlossen und im Jahre 1957 durchgeführt.&#13;
